It’s a happy day in the Bon Jovi camp after the band had been nominated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll of Fame. The band is not out of the woods just yet, as they need to obtain enough votes to actually get inducted into the hall. Despite that, the first step is finally done, after Bon Jovi have been eligible to be in the hall for so many years.
Bon Jovi fans took a big personal hit after longtime guitarist Richie Sambora had left the band. Replacing him, session ace Phil X has done very well to fill in the space that Sambora had left behind. But fans may in fact see Sambora back once again in the band, if they can muster the votes. If so, we could see a true Bon Jovi reunion once again.
Reuniting with Bon Jovi would be the first time in four years that Sambora would step back in the limelight. And what a way to make a triumphant comeback, than while being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“It’s a big honor. I feel like I’m already in the Hall Of Fame, because I’ve been playing with my peers and these guys that are in the Hall Of Fame, whether it’s Bob Dylan or Jimmy Page and all these guys, for a long time. Anytime you walk onstage with Buddy Guy or B.B. King or something like that, I felt like I was already in Hall Of Fame. But it’s still good to be recognized, obviously, and all that. It’s a thrill.”
“At the end of the day, the great thing is that we made a lot of people happy, we put a lot of asses in the seats, we sold a lot of records and wrote some great songs that made a lot of people happy. So I guess if I do get in, I’ll feel like it’s maybe deserved or something like that. That’s the way I look at it. We were out there playing for thirty-some-odd years and made a lot of people happy, so maybe that’s a deserved thing.”
