Jimi Hendrix Strat From Monterey Pop Fest Up For Auction

At 1967’s Monterey Pop Festival Jimi Hendrix made a historic moment by setting his guitar on fire. Hendrix had another guitar that “survived” this performance, and that one will go on auction. A private collector from the U.K. is selling Black Pepper Fender Stratocaster via Heritage Auctions.

The bidding, which will take place in Beverly Hills on June 17, starts at staggering $ 500,000. Some reports say that the price will go up to $750,000.

This particular guitar was used for “Hey Joe” and “The Wind Cries Mary” among other songs at the aforementioned show.
