The newest single from Bush, “This Is War,” had stemmed from an emotional place with the band. The terrifying events that occurred in Charlotesville this year had struck a chord with the nation.
It’s from these events that Bush was able to channel an energy to create a peaceful block of negative emotions, and streamline it into a creative outlet.
“I saw the riots in Charlottesville and was just amazed at all this level of hatred and bigotry and sort of blaming, you know what I mean?” he said. “Like blaming a race of people, blaming the Jews for whatever your problem is. It just seems like medieval madness. So that song was born,” said Bush singer Gavin Rossdale.
