In the words of Freddie Mercury, “The Show Must Go On.” Hard rock group Alter Bridge, featuring Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti, faced a possible show cancellation for their New York City show at the PlayStation Theater in Times Square on Thursday night following a brutal winter storm. The Band was on their way down from the Boston area while on their current tour trek supporting their new Top 10 effort, The Last Hero. The potential show shutdown was short lived to the delight of the band and the show attendees, after the Tri-state area received around 8″ inches of snowfall. The band announced on their Facebook page:

“NEW YORK – As of now, the show is still on. Promoter said its a go…. we are here! Yes, its coming down out there but reports show that the snow is to slow / stop by 1pm to 3pm. As long as streets and public transit are open – there is no reason to not play! Got to think positive, dress warm… Bring a shovel? If anything changes we will post it asap! – AB”

Followed up by: “Tonight’s show is ON”

Alter Bridge, accompanied by Non Point and Weapons of Anew, went on with the show in New York City with some ripping sets from the openers and warmed up the snowy Thursday with some hot new tracks off of The Last Hero, starting with “Writing on the Wall” and older classic “Come To Life.” Myles Kennedy took a moment to show his appreciation to the crowd who came out despite the heavy snowfall, and was enthusiastic to point out how the band was not sure if they would be able to make it to the Big Apple, but were relieved to know the band got the go ahead to make it down.

Performing onward with more hits and other tracks off the new album such as “Addicted,” “My Champion,” “The Last Hero,” “Blackbird” and closing out the encore with “Show Me A Leader,” and “Rise Today.”

Alter Bridge will continue their trek in North America, a stint in Australia/New Zealand, back to the states and off to Europe for Festival dates.
