Legend Elton John was smacked in the face when someone threw Mardi Gras beads at him, temporarily stunning and silencing the singer on Wednesday night (Feb 14) at Ceasar’s Palace.
The 70-year-old was knocked completely off his game after getting hit and paused his performance of “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” to check for any loose teeth. The band kept playing as Elton took a minute to compose himself but he gracefully got back into the song.
TMZ reports that Elton invited the first row on the stage and the offender was one of the lucky few to share the stage with him. Not cool.
Elton John recently announced he will retire from touring after his 300-concert Farewell, Yellow Brick Road World Tour, saying the outing “is a way of saying thank you. I don’t want to go out with a whimper. I want to go out with a bang.”
